This is an on-board charger that remains attached to the battery.chargeX dimensions are 1.5 x 2 x .75 about the same size as a pack of gum.This smart charger is microprocessor controlled and has built-in detect function to recognize different types of batteries. This information is kept in the memory until the unit is disconnected from the battery.chargeX uses a technique known as Pulse Width Modulation PWM to charge a battery. If the battery voltage is low more power is supplied to the battery.
